What We Do in our Community to Support Women and Girls
Making A Difference
HIGH HEELS FOR HEALING
Based on the old saying, “You can’t really understand another person’s experience until you have walked in their shoes,” this lighthearted event increases awareness of women’s issues by featuring prominent local men strolling in women’s shoes. The funds raised from this event help to support our club's mission of investing in women and girls in our community.
AWARDS AND SCHOLARSHIPS
At Soroptimist of Humboldt Bay, we are dedicated to supporting women and girls in our community through a combination of scholarships, awards, recognition, mentoring and encouragement. Our annual awards honor women that support other women, women who are returning to their education after a break, and to women who "Live their Dream", whatever that might be.
Grants & Community Giving
Our goal is to support non-profit groups that support women and girls in Humboldt County.
Community Programs
Giving back to our community through active support in programs like Backpacks for Kids; Care Home Holiday gifts through our "Gnome Project"; S Clubs at Eureka & St Bernard High Schools to support high school student leadership....
